Hatchet Discussion blog #4

During this discussion everyone participated activly in the discussion becaue most of the time at least one person is unable or forgets to bring in his/her discussion sheet. Out of the 3 passages that everyone shared I admit that Anne's and Angelika's were the best as they both selected the part of the book when the skunk sprays Brian violently and steals his turtle eggs. However, when it came to looking up the vocabulary that we were unsure of or just was really interesting I was a bit surprised when Kaelen forgot to do it. Coincidentally Angelika and I chose the samew word- Flailing.
I thought this week in particular the whole group participated activ;y and i'm looking forward to the last discussion!

Discussion reflection - Hatchet #2

During this discussion, Kaelen, Dylan, Anne and I participated. Evryone shared their 3 passages that they selected. My favourite one that was shared was Angelika's on page 63, paragragh 4, because she commented it as" I really enjoy how the author used nature as a sign of help and the paragragh is very discriptive and visual." When it came to vocabulary, most of us found some pretty challenging words except that Kaelen got one of his definitions wrong. However, throughout the discussion everyone (even the ones who don't usually concentrate) seemed to be trying to put in 100% effort in sharing their thoughts and ideas.

Discussion reflection- Hatchet #1

In my group(that participated in the discussion) were Anne and Dylan, they each described Hatchet very well. To start off Dylan said that his favourite part of the book was when the pilot had a heart attack. "Even though it was unpleasent, it gave me a sense of adrenaline and it was very exciting." Said Dylan. I enjoyed that part for the same reason, it was exciting and thriling.
On the other hand Anne's most enjoyed part was when Brain tried to get in contact with the control people but failed. You would automatically assum that the radio would work and He would be saved but giving that twist made it intersting. During the whole conversation all of us semmed to be enjoying the book- even though it was a school book!
