School year reflection

The school year has been really fun so far. One of the activities that I have really enjoyed is basketball because in my last school (Alice Smith) I used to play netball , which is similar to basketball except that the court is split into thirds and you can't bounce the ball you have to pass it. But since ISKL isn't an Australian or British school they don't play it here, but as an alternative I play basketball. In humanities I especially enjoyed doing the secret santa because when everyone opens their gift they always like it but they don't know who it's from so it's kinda of a mystery. I just really like seeing people surprised when they find out who was their secret santa. I got a shock when Angelika told me that she was my secret santa. In the end everyone was happy with a gift and just in the christmas spirit even if they don't usually celebrate it!

#1. Since I am new this year I think I have made an incredible achievement as I have a number of friends already. E.g. Kat, Erin, Irene, Safa, Cindy etc. It was difficult at first but everyone seemed really nice and openly friendly so it became easy to talk to people even though they were complete strangers to me. As well as that my grades are pretty good and hopefully they'll stay that way. One of the things that I'm most proud of is doing my monochromatic shoe drawing in art as it was loads of fun but challenging as well because we had to remove our shoes and then place it on the table and sketch it then we later went on to colour it-with difficulty mind you.

#2. Recently my math teacher showed us how to calculate the day of the week that we were born but all mathematically-even if we already knew. The reason that she did this was because we watched a video of this mathematician that can calculate problems incredibly fast and one of his acts was calculating the day of the week that someone was born using their date of birth. Before Mrs. Smith showed us how to do it I already knew my day of birth so using her method I was able to work out if the method worked or not. In the end it was me who made the mistake because I messed up my division so Hyo Jin corrected me.

#3 One of the skills that I have seen performed but that I don't know is to juggle. It sounds really random but on the first or second P.E. lesson we did a rotation of activities and one of them was juggling. Even though there was a variation of different materials that you can use I still couldn't manage. Even to this day I can't juggle, it's quite a shame actually, why can't I posses the skill of juggling? why?

#4 My main goal for the rest of the school year is to be more outgoing during lessons because most teachers think I'm really quiet but normally I'm not. If you asked all of my friends if I was quiet they'd probably say I was definitely not quiet just in class because during lunch and breaks between class I'm very talkative and loud- not the type of child you would want to teach in your class. It just really bugs me how all of my tears think I'm quiet. I just don't talk much during class because I try to concentrate on the lesson.
